5.2.b Introduction to CAD Modeling Skills
Intro: In this activity, we constructed various objects using Inventor
Conclusion
1. What advantages do CAD sketches have over freehand sketches?
The advantages that CAD sketches have over freehand sketches are that you edit it the sketch easily and you can see how the parts will come to life.
2. What disadvantages do CAD sketches have when compared to freehand sketches
The disadvantages that CAD sketches have when compared to freehand sketches are that freehand sketches are tangible and you are drawing multi-views.
3. What types of numeric constraints may be applied to sketches?
The types of numeric constraints that may be applied to sketches are dimensioning and extrusions.
4. Explain the difference between the Fillet sketch tool and the Fillet placed feature.
The fillet sketch tool is to select whether to choose a fillet or chamfer while the fillet placed feature selects what you want to fillet.
5. The Fillet placed feature is used to create both a “fillet” and a “round”. Describe the difference between the two results.
The difference is that rounds are on the inside and fillets are on the inside.
6. Could the Shell feature be used to create the opening in the Automoblox body passenger section (as in number 2 above)? Explain your answer.
The shell feature could be created to make the opening in the Automoblox body passenger section if you entered in the right measurement.
